I hate to ask about this because I've spent some time searching trying to find the VIN on my truck, but I need help. Any suggestions from those that have Big Bolts on where I can find the VIN for my 1957 GMC F350 LCF?
Thanks for any input and sorry if this has been addressed somewhere else on the forums.
Sould be on driver door hinge pillar. Check inside glove box door. If it nowhere to be found, it's been removed. Seems like a hybrid truck. I think GMC called them LCF. Low Cab Forward.

Chevy called them LCF's, GMC called them 'F's'. What engine do you have? Nice that you kept the big wheels, would look undernourished in the fenders if 16's used.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires. '47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle. '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.
Not stamped in his era. The GMC frame stamp, which is on the front passenger side, specified to be on the side of the frame, corresponds to the Serial/Data plate being on the cowl. When GMC went to drivers door hinge pillar plate, no stamp. Looks like mid 1949 transition period.

This truck has the straight 6, I'm assuming it's a 270. I shortened the frame about 6 feet and moved the axle forward to put a bed on it and use it as a project truck around the house.

Could be a GMC 302 straight six, I've got one in my 450

The engine displacement on an old GMC 6 cylinder engine is usually part of the Engine Serial Number that is stamped into the ledge in the block at the rear of the distributor.
