Would anyone know the correct AC Delco model or GM number for a 2 post, 6 volt generator on a 1939 VC model truck? Engine has a 6-1/8" mounting bracket...

And, the standard heavy duty truck has no voltage regulator, which means it would have a voltage cutout only. The asterix in the R.P.O. box takes you to the bottom of the page which indicates you could get a voltage regulator with current control. Bottom line is you have more choices to keep it "correct". My other 39 (VB) 1.5 ton has a 948R with a cutout, this one has a voltage regulator that appears original...I will have to inspect what is left of the wiring harness... The other clue is the generator mounting bracket which is about 6-1/8" long...
