do you have to change the firewall to make a LS or small Chevy or Ford fit ?

No, they can be installed without altering the firewall.

Not altered. Mind you, I planned for an electric fan and motor tight to the radiator.

With a smallblock Chevy, all I have ever had to do was bend the lower lip of the toeboard where the transmission hole is in the floor.

Thanks , I wasnt sure, do most make there own motor mounts and trans cross members ? no Ford, just throwing that out (-:

I know there's been plenty of small blocks installed without modifying the firewall. Anyhow, my buddy's dad used a bread pan to make a notch for the HEI distributor. I've heard of old valve covers used for the same purpose.

Putting an electric fan on the engine side(sucking) is more efficient than in front. Might be best to move radiator fwd, like GMC, to get room. Ed
'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires. '47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle. '54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed. '55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

Way ahead of you. Only, I kept my radiator in the stock position. Like I said, I planned for this. The tape measure was my friend.

Camaro clip, so I made my own motor mounts and used a Chassis Engineering cross member that I mounted where I needed.
