5 RJ E 1306 is the serial number stamped on the data plate of a truck for sale on eBay. I usually can figure these out myself, but this one has me stumped. This much I think is correct: 5 = Kansas City R = 1948 J = 4100 E = May Right? This poor stakebed truck with dual rear wheels is being called a 3/4- or 1- ton. Thanks!
Yes that's right, but it should be noted the "R" is only used in 1948 for the 4, 5 & 6000 Series trucks. The 3000 Series trucks had "F" as the first letter in the year/model code...

The seller. At first glance I thought it was a 1-ton. There’s no front bumper and the fenders didn’t look bigger... But a closer look at the pictures shows 10 studs on the rear wheels.
