I have a new-to-me 1951 Chevy 3100 half ton truck. I want to check the transmission & rear axle fluid levels. I think I've identified the proper plugs in each, but after a lifetime of doing, then asking advice, with mixed results, I thought I'd ask advice first.

I believe this is the fill plug for the transmission. On the right side of the tranny.

Transmission Plug

I believe this is the fill plug for the rear axle.

Rear Axle Plug

The rear plate of the differential does not have a plug in it.

Differential Cover

You are correct! the diff cover doesn't need a fill plug, because, the rear axle fill plug does the job.
