Enthusiasts...
I'm having throttle linkage issues. I've attached 3 photos.

One of the prints is image from shop manual. This is my setup exactly however the vertical rod that connects from the swivel is different. The one in the manual is straighter with just one bend vs the one that I actually have. I've attached a picture of the one I have after sandblasting it. As you can see it has multiple bends, but seems to be the correct length and has the proper spring hole. The last photo is my actual truck and how the rod connects to the carb throttle. It looks to be far or angled away from the carb and should be more vertical, coming straight up directly to the throttle?

Is my setup ok? Does anyone have the actual straight rod I need?

My concern is that my throttle on the carb not only goes up and down as it should, but there seems to he some left to right play which leaves my rpms running higher than they should when I let off the gas....

It appears to me that you have the wrong vertical rod. My vertical rod looks very straight just like the one on the shop manual page you show.

Paul... I agree.... looking for the correct rod, but so far unsuccessful... maybe a I can bend this one back and tinker with it....

By chance do you know the exact length of it?

Thx

Don't some engine blocks have a couple of different threaded holes for the bellcrank to be installed? It looks like the bent linkage is intended to be used with a bellcrank that mounts closer to the back of the engine.

Too jump in on the thread, where has everyone been finding replacement springs for the throttle linkage. I am not sure if I am not looking in the right places or if I am not looking for the right thing but having a terrible time finding some replacements for mine.
