Were there ever any marine/boat applications for the Chevy 235s?

GMC made inlines for the "DUK's" or whatever, for WWII amphibious trucks, maybe Chevy did too,

Maybe marine is a good place for a 235. The only marine application for my 235 will be the bottom of a lake.

But seriously, didn't Chris Craft boats in the 50's use Stovebolt 6's???

All 50s Chis-Crafts that I remember had flathead sixes and eights. A DUK wouldn't be a marine application as it has a closed cooling system and no water cooled exhaust system.

Baldy,
Yep -- most of those '40's and '50's CC motors were Hercules engines.

I helped restore a Chris-Craft in the mid '60's and it had a Gray Marine 6 cylinder gas engine in it.
