I have a 235 mid 50s era engine block with the pistons seized in the bore. Also, over 45 years sitting in a farmers field, in the truck, apparently condensation from the head's intake/exhaust area leaked down along the bore, the piston rings and seized one piston with that, the other pistons are also seized. Last year I tried all the recommendations regarding freeing all the pistons up, found here and elsewhere on the web and nothing worked. I ended up finding another engine. Question: Is this engine worth anything more than taking it to the scrapper?

Do you have the main bearing caps? If not, it's a boat anchor. Seized pistons are easy to deal with- - - - -drill them full of holes and pound them out in pieces- - - -they're going to have to be replaced anyway. If the block isn't freeze-cracked it's salvageable, even if the cylinders have to be sleeved. Jerry
