I have a port on the carb that's plugged (I think it was a BC in a previous life) or I can connect to the manifold. My understanding is when tuning this way you need to leave the vacuum advance hooked up. Thanks for your patience and help. Typically at the bottom flange of the carb, or on the manifold itself. Where vacuum wipers would hook up would be a non-restricted port.

One of those times I started to overthink the problem, seems I do a lot of that anymore. I hooked it directly to the nipple on the manifold after I pulled off the wiper hose. Worked like a charm.

Carburetor is not supposed to have vaccum at Idle...
