Hello to all. I’m not new to the classic car hobby, but I am a new owner of a 59 3E dually tow truck that I saved from the crusher. On most of my other vehicles ( 68 Camaro BB, 56 210 DelRay, 68 Olds Cutlass Convertible, 74 Dodge Charger, and 68 Mustang Convertible), I’ve replaced the front drum brakes to disc or power disc. I’m looking to do the same with the 59 3E tow truck. Does anyone have any info on doing this? I haven’t been able to find a kit on the internet as of yet. I am also looking for info on replacing the front wheel bearings with tapered roller bearings. If anyone has any info on that, I would appreciate it greatly.

593ETow, welcome to the Stovebolt and congrats on the 59 dually.

**Since this is the welcome centre questions rarely get answered here. Please post them in the most appropiate garage forums and let us show you how we can help.....We have driveline forum, BIg Bolt forum, Hi Po forums and many more. Choose the one that best fits your needs..........and then, if a moderator feels it would be better answered in yet another forum they can move it and help you out there.

I see your down in Edgefield. We have many Southern bolters here and have been known to have a Southern Stovebolt Reunion on occasions. Watch for them and if your up here in Spartanburg give me a shout and the hot dogs and cold Pepsi are on me!

Here’s the fleet. Excuse the mess every where but I’m running out of space in my shop. The 67 Shelby clone and 68 Camaro on the rotisserie aren’t mine. Most of the stuff on the 56 and the Camaro are parts for the 68 on the rotisserie.

Thanks Craig. I was fortunate to get the truck. The guy hauling to the crusher actually used his front end loader to get the truck out of the hole it was in and pushed it up on my trailer so I could get out of his way to take another load to the crusher.

Hi.
I might be out of line here but you might hit up Sid's drop axles (or something like that).
He sells all sorts of kits and does mods on beam axles.
