I'm messin with the thought of aftermarket carb header and intake. My 292 is stock with a Rochester mono jet for a 250. Since I'm having trouble finding the right carb for a 292, I thought I'd do a swap. Whats the easiest swap set up where there is no linkage hassels? On our site everyone talks about Offenhauser and Fenton. Has anyone messed around with Clifford stuff? Which carb that is trouble free should I look at? I want reliablity since this will be my driver. I can go either 2 or 4 bbl.

The easiest and cheapiest would be a H/W 5200 - 2bbl, adapter and linkage from Tom Langdon, DONE. Anything else will require messing with the linkage. A Clifford would be better for the top end performance. I'll leave it there. I'm sure you will get plenty of recommendations for carbs.

I've had the Offy with small Holley on for about 2 years with no problems. I fabricated some elementary brackets to make the 1 bbl linkage work. I made it function the exact same, just that now, it's horizontal instead of vertical. I'd be more than happy to show you my setup if you'd like to check it out.
