As usual one should always plan to spend twice as much as they expect too when working on projects. I put a T-5 in my 52 Chevy pickup and then realized that:

1. The clutch that came out originally was a 9 1/4" so the RCF-4201 (9 11/16) is too big.

2. The pressure plate does not need replaced if the original is not warped.

3. If you put in the wrong clutch and a new pressure plate and crank the motor you may not be able to get your money back.

So... trying to do more homework here. The RCF-4190 is a 9 1/8" 14 spline 1" clutch disc and will fit the original pressure plate with no modifications. Napa lists it as originally coupled to a raised diaphragm pressure plate and the stock pressure plate is a flat diaphragm. Is this right?

New drive shaft will be here Monday! Hoping to have this thing ready to drive by then!

jthuma94,call best bilt clutches 417-831-4470 and talk to berry(springfield,mo).I did a lot of research before i bought a clutch disc. They have a valeo brand #38-4190 that will do the trick with the 9 1/4" pressure plate. He said it lists for a 1983-1984 2.0 s-10 pickup.I purchased a 4190 here locally and the center hub would not fit inside the pressure plate.I called best bilt and give them all of the dimensions of the pressure plate and throw-out bearing,he set me up.With shipping the disc cost me $50.37.I tried the same disc you are talking about,it would not clear the center of the pressure plate,so i took it back.Call berry,he will help !!

I checked with the FLAPS and they have several 9 1/8 14 spline 1" discs in stock so I am going to go down with the pressure plate and have a look at what fits best. Thanks for the tip. The driveshaft will be here Friday so maybe I can wrap this up over the weekend.
