For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 99 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 99 | As usual one should always plan to spend twice as much as they expect too when working on projects. I put a T-5 in my 52 Chevy pickup and then realized that:
1. The clutch that came out originally was a 9 1/4" so the RCF-4201 (9 11/16) is too big.
2. The pressure plate does not need replaced if the original is not warped.
3. If you put in the wrong clutch and a new pressure plate and crank the motor you may not be able to get your money back.
So... trying to do more homework here. The RCF-4190 is a 9 1/8" 14 spline 1" clutch disc and will fit the original pressure plate with no modifications. Napa lists it as originally coupled to a raised diaphragm pressure plate and the stock pressure plate is a flat diaphragm. Is this right?
New drive shaft will be here Monday! Hoping to have this thing ready to drive by then! | | |
