I have a 1956 6100 with a 261. The lid on my air cleaner is rusted through in the middle right were the wing nut tightens down. Does anyone sell just the lid to this style air cleaner? I found on the "bay" a complete air cleaner unit but I really only need the lid, everything else is in good shape. Thanks

I have that same cleaner

Dont think you'll find anything close. Try posting in the parts wanted section of the forum, someone parting out a big bolt might have one

You may end up having to try to get a whole unit or repair yours

Interesting info on that cleaner from tclederman

That should be an easy fix. Weld or braze a 1/4" fender washer into the rusted area and do a little cleanup work on the weld with a die grinder or a Dremel tool. With a little sanding and paint work the fix should be virtually invisible.

Back when I had a 235 and wanted to use a paper air cleaner, I raided the kitchen.
