just a dumb Question.... I've got a 55 gmc sub. sitting on a 74 chyenne 1/2 ton frame w/454 and turbo400. I don't have the radiator from the 74 but do have the one from 55 V-8 (orig. but been restored) do I need cross flow or does orig. cool it?I have a tranny cooler and oil cooler.

Have the original re-cored at the local radiator shop. The flow does not really make any difference in cooling capacity, a cross flow is easier to use with a low hood line. You can tell the rad shop what size engine you are running, they will be able to re-core it to handle it. You will be able to keep the original mounting that way.
