For helping keep this great

on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 | I want to lower the front of my panel some, and will probably use lowering blocks. I have read to use steel ones as aluminum ones can crack. If anyone is using blocks already, I'd like to hear how it worked out. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,270 | Always include year/make/size panel in each post. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 | | | | | | Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 80 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2018 Posts: 80 | hey pan, i have 3" aluminum in the rear and although i've only done about 600 miles i haven't had any issues. i used mono leaf leaf springs in the front and again, no problems. hope that helps. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 | Can you post a pic of yours? | | | | | Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 631 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2016 Posts: 631 | Lowering blocks in the rear is easy and preferred.
Front lowering 2.5” lowering spring kit or drop axle is better choice. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 431 | Why are blocks bad to put on the front? | | | | | Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,519 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2001 Posts: 1,519 | I used 4" blocks in the rear, and 4" drop axle on mine. No probs. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,293 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,293 | Why are blocks bad to put on the front? The springs are on top of the front axles. There is therefore nowhere to put blocks to lower the front axle.
