There was a key in the ignition switch that fits it and the door lock. It doesn't want to unlock the glove box, were there originally different keys for them or is the lock just jammed??

But my 1950 Chevy had two different keys, glove box was different
And I have a 53 Chevy where all locks match
Side note
The locksmith in the closest city was able to get the codes for the locks and cut a key to the numbers in a book without needing the lock even for these old trucks.

Some even accept a screwdriver.

| | | | | Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 124 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2017 Posts: 124 | Thanks guys, I've had multiple vehicles over the years that had different keys, usually one for ignition and doors then another for trunk and glove box, so i figured that was the case here too. The glove box latch is in the unlocked position so its usable the way it is. I know the trucks history as its lived in my neighborhood all its life. Started as a farm truck then went to my father in law then to me. I suspect that latch has never been locked knowing both the previous owners.

These old bolts are in my blood. Hard thing is focusing on just one.
