Working on getting the parking brakes working on my 1954 3100. Cables are replaced, but the lever inside the driver side rear drum is broken. The tab that makes a “U” around the cable was cracked and broke off in my hands. My usual sources are LMC or Jim Carter and I do not think they sell them. Any one know of a reproduction or can someone help me out with a part number?

Thanks in advance

BB

Cannot find it there.

I can always try to repair it, but do not own a welder so I figured I’d try to replace first.

If you can post a picture in the parts wanted forum, one of your fellow bolters may have one lying around. Possible you local high school has an auto shop class that could help.

BB,

The original GM part # for the Drivers Side Rear parking brake lever - Group # 5.149

GM # 3693603 LEFT ( drivers side ) & the Right - 3693604

The ( 2 ) above GM part numbers were superseded to : GM # 3820159 Left & GM # 3820160 Right

GM # 3693603 Left Side was used on 1951 to 1958 Chevy 1/2 Ton Trucks &

1951 to 1957 Chevy passenger cars .

1953 & 1954 thru 1957 Corvettes ALSO used the SAME parking brake levers as the 1/2 ton truck .

Here's a Corvette Repro parts seller that sells repro brake levers

You can re-use your original hold down bolt , spring washer , lock washer & nut .
