I’m looking at a trans online and need help identifying it. Pic is below and numbers according to the seller are: 590511, 5047 GM5.

30-40s up toTwo ton gear box, Does it have a bowtie in the casting?

That transmission was used up to 1947.
That one has the open drive yoke, so it would be from a big truck.

Have the seller take the top off and send you a picture of the gears inside...without the shifter it's open to the elements and critters.

I noticed that as well. Even with the shifter on open to the environment, those transmissions will fill with water rendering the transmission to scrap.
