hiya folks, My pop got a starter for his truck... and he got all the rods and levers hooked up good, but we are missin' the spring that pulls the levers and stuff back away from the switch on the starter...

I was just curious, how strong of a spring do we need for that?

any suggestions? recommendations?

just thought I would ask...

thanks...

The spring isn't much stronger than the one that you will find inside a break cyl. It is just a little bit heavier and you can find one to work at your local harware or auto parts store. Good Luck

I got one from Chevy Duty for about $5-6 it fit easier than the one I got from the hardware store, the curved ends are at different angles. wink

Woodhick is right. I like to use a 1/2 front brake return spring for this application. No chance of the starter button " running on " with this spring.
