What was the recommended lubricant for the steering gear box on our trucks. Restoration Supply has everything from 90 to 1200 weight and they recommend the 1200. Any thoughts or experience? American Classic used to have it, but I believe they are out. The problem is GM has discontinued that item. I used Penrite steering box lube, you can get it from Restoration Supply in Reno. In a freshly rebuilt box, the SAE 90 gear lube will work, but in a worn box the gear lube will leak out.
