As some of you know, I have a potential buyer for the 48 Chalk board that was at the Reunion.
He is in NY state and wanted more opinions on it before he decided.

So post up here any pictures and thoughts or send him a PM.
He will not get a better evaluation anywhere.

If he decides not to take it, I'll post it in the swap meet with this link.

Thanks
Don

Does Kasey know you're selling her truck out from under her? I'm sure it's just a couple more days before Mom and Dad come around.

Don, I’m going to post my evaluation here. Why? Because I don’t believe in hiding behind a veil of secrecy from the current owner.
The truck is a typical “Barn Find”. Rough around the edges from years of setting around being neglected. A few dents and dings as would be expected. Minimal rust on the outside. Noticed an area of rust near the passenger cowl/fender connection area that will require repair. Runs and moves on its own power but does not stop. Very unique paint job, looks like a bunch of kids attacked it with sidewalk chalk.🤣 It could be a worthwhile project. It needs saving. All this is based on my opinion without influence from anyone.

Thanks Martin, That's what I'm looking for.
I have not heard from the potential buyer since last week.
I'll give it a few more days and then put it in the swap meet.
But those kids sure did have a good time with the chalk.
BTY, it stormed Saturday night and there was no chalk at all, on the truck Sunday morning.
It washed off every bit of Caysey's artwork off.
She redid the flag though.

Chuck, Skeet helped me load it Sunday. Caysey just sat under an awning and watched.
But her Mom did win a trophy for her truck.

FYI, The 14 year old girl in the picture and doing the chalk artwork, Is Caycee.
Skeet and Brooke's daughter.
She was after Mom and Dad to buy it Big Time.
They held their ground, because it was not a GMC.

Yep Martin, I guess I did!
But I have not heard from the potential buyer in a week.
So this thread and the truck are fair game for conversation or another buyer.

Then again, the kids had a lot of fun doing artwork.
I might just have to hang on to it for next year?

Second picture is Caycee and Mom Brooke, with the trophy.

But Caycee did write GMC on the truck, what more proof do Brooke and Skeet need? She's willing to meet them halfway

I looked it over also. I will post here as Justhorse did.
To make a real nice truck out of it it will need total restoration. To get it running & drivable it will need the fuel system & brakes gone trough. The brake pedal goes ton the floor.

The engine sounds ok. it runs rough the way the fuel feed is set up. The front shackels/pins are worn but not too bad. The rears are bad. The springs are good. The steering has about 1-2 in. of freeplay.

The tires are weatherchecked but standing up ok.

It will need radiator Serviced or replaced & new hoses.
Those are my mechanical observations.
George

Thanks George!
Public evaluation is what I wanted!
Still have not heard from the potential buyer in NY State.
So, it may go in the Swap Meet next week.

Mongo may want it for parts.
But that would be a crime in my book!
The Chalk Board fun with the kids, Tells me to save it for next years Reunion!

Thanks
Don
