During the restoration of my 1937 Chevy half ton I came across a couple locations with the bowtie emblem that seem kind of unusual. Of course, you expect them on the hood sides but why did they put it on the side of the 4 speed transmission? Even more odd, why did they bother to stamp it on the cork gasket that is part of the under seat gas tank vent.
You may recall that '37 is the only year the Chevy half ton had you fill the gas tank under the passenger seat. The bung is not vented, so they designed a vent pipe that went clear through the tank to the underside, to vent the fumes outside the cab. I am certain that cork gasket had not seen the light of day for 80 years!

Kent the thought occurred to me, maybe your truck was assembled in Canada, or the location it was assembled had a different supplier, I never noticed trade marks on any of the 37s I parted out, or my 38. Do you have any of the history on the 37, previous owner etc,
