This wouldn't be the first time I've run into fitment issues with my '47 3100 AD. For all I know, the '47.2 dash is unique to this specific year. I decided to start a new thread in this forum, as the wiring issue was resolved.
I'm trying to install a Delco Remy ignition switch and an ignition bracket. The PO butchered the ignition hole in the dash. IMHO, the cowl vent bracket is directly in the way of the placement of the ignition bracket. Could this be the incorrect bracket for the '47? I've included some picture for your viewing pleasure. The vendors are all selling a bracket for 47-53.
Andy, I have never worked on a '47, but looking at your pics, the hole in the dash does not look to be at all correct by '49-'53 standards. The ignition switch bracket is not correct by '49-'53 standards. You need some input from someone who has an unmolested '47 to verify 100% whether the '47 is unique. I have my doubts that it would be different. Carl

Thanks for your reply. I know the hole in the dash has been molested. Let's hope another '47 owner can join the discussion and shine some light on this.
As I look at the bracket I have and the one Classic Parts is selling, I'd have to agree they are quite different.
I'll try and be patient and see what turns up on this dilemma. Stay tuned......
