Hello

Looking for any information on tires. My truck has 7.5x20 all the way around.

I can get 9.00x20 local for $80 but don’t know if they will work. Only going to put them on the back.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

7.50 to 9.00 might get a little tight and allow the tires to rub together when mounted up on the original rims. I would do some measuring first.

I know a lot of people put 8.25x20 on the rears. I'd like to know if someone has put 9.00x20 on the rear as well

Liquidated my projects
Now looking for a decent '47-'55.1 3100, 3600, or 3800

What truck? What wheel bolt pattern? Since you are talking about split rims of some sort, have you checked around locally to see if anyone will mount and dismount them? Have you considered getting tubeless wheels for your new tires?

Thanks everyone for the replies.

I’ll look into the 8.25x20

Welcome to the Bolt wave

Chicago Tire carries 7.50x20 Highway tires.

http://chicagotireinc.com/7.50-20-tires/

Nebraska Tire has 8.25x20 Mud/Snow Lug tires.

https://nebraskatire.com/truck

I looked for years to find 7.50x20 Mud/Snow Lug tires for a fire truck project and never did find them...highway tires just wouldn't look right on the rear of a fire truck to me.

If it were me I'd put 7.50 Highway on the front and 8.25 M/S on the rear.

The 7.50's are about 36.5" tall and the 8.25's are about 39" tall, so the rear tires will change the final gear ratio if you go taller.

https://simpletire.com/power-king-7.5-20-sh720-tires

These have been as low as $500 for set of four in the last few months... Right now they're at $863 for 4. Think I'll wait.

If you have 7.25 x 5/10 bolt pattern, 22.5 wheels are available, fit, 9" tires, wheels are on late '50's farm trucks.
