In the passenger door there is a window channel on the hinge side that is spot welded in place The top weld is holding but the bottom weld has broken loose. It is just barely reachable with your hand thru the window opening at the top and the hinge access plate on the bottom.

Has anyone had this issue? How did you resolve it?

Didn't have the issue you describe but I have an idea. Drill the spot weld out by drilling from the hinge side. Don't drill thru the channel. Jam the channel in position with a piece of wood and plug weld the hole you drilled.

I've seen guys cut an access hole in their door, make the necessary repairs inside the door, then weld the access hole closed when they're done.

Thanks, that's what I've done. But rather than cut and weld (discovered this after paint) I used a 1 3/4" hole saw that I can then plug with a purchased round snap in plug.
