Checked voltage and everything is perfect but that initial generate light does not come on. The "self test" is the light coming on with the "key on- - - -engine off".

I just had generator rebuilt and light was coming on when I started for a few seconds but no light comes on when I start anymore, thanks guys.

I was on floor upside down but there is a lot of wires and hands aren’t small enough,trying not to break anything else. I am not off until Sunday and will try again. | | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 Sir Searchalot | | Sir Searchalot Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,983 | The whole "V" cluster comes out the front with just a few screws. Some are on column part of bezel. All while sitting in the seat. No crawling under. There should be enough wire slack to get at bulb. Speedo cable may need unscrewed or it may have slack. In general, it comes out easily or far enough to pop the bulb socket out of it's hole.
Disconnect battery neg BEFORE starting.
