Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 114 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 114 | I've installed T5 in my 42 3/4 ton Chevy (running a 1962 235 6 cyl). While this is a major improvement over the OE Muncie 4 speed, it still leaves some things to be desired. The 3/4 ton's stock 4.55 R&P set makes 1st gear pretty useless although, the truck is far better at highway speeds. I'd like to swap out the R&P set to something closer to 3.90 or 4.10, in order to take care of the low speed acceleration. Can anyone tell me if they've done this in an Art Deco 3/4 ton? I did read the tech article about the 1955-62 pumpkin swap but, why change the whole pumpkin & mod the driveshaft just to swap the R&P ratio? If a replacement gear set in the 3.90 or 4.10 ratio is available for the 41-46 3/4 ton, I'd sure like to know about where to get a set. Thanks for any help or sources you have.

High ratio gears for your stock rear end don't exist. Jerry
