Besides lousy shifts, had what sounded like a rubbing noise under load. Just swapped to a 3 speed. So much better. But noise still there. There is play in front of drive shaft up and down. Time for an oakie bushing????

If so, you need a bushing. It's normal for the shaft to move up and down if the rear half of the yoke is removed because the slip yoke is what centers itself in the bushing. Jerry
