I need to pull the radiator out of Clyde ('37 1/2 ton) to have a leak repaired. Any tricks or tips to pulling it without removing the radiator shell?
Thanks in advance,

There is nothing wrong with posting a question. | | | | Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Feb 2000 Posts: 4,886 | Since my '37 has a 250 inch engine, I have to pull the thermostat housing and water pump to get radiator out. I never had the original engine, so have no idea how that works. Once I have the pump and housing out of the way, the radiator will come up and lay over the top of the engine, then slide it out under the hood supports. It would be easier to pull the hood off, but I have done it a couple times with hood in place. Once you drain coolant and unhook hoses, plug the outlets with caps or plastic bags and rubber bands. While the radiator is face down over the engine, it always seems to leak coolant on the fender and your legs as you menuver it out.
