The handles inside and out are well connected and seem to ber partially move the mechanism that opens the door. Is there a way to trigger the opening mechanism from above? Through the gap bertween the window and door? Ironic.
When my 51 panel door was stuck shut someone advised slamming into it from the inside with my shoulder as hard as I could. I was skeptical, but it worked.
And why can't you remove the interior door panels?

I was able to get the interior panel off (wasn't real easy) and was able to trip the lock mechanism with a screwdriver. The main problem was my door was out of alignment. | | |
