What is everyone running as a replacement hose for what appears to be crankcase ventilation and vent off the hydro vac? Looks to be 3/4" id and is a thin wall with a wire spiral in it. The truck is a 56 6500.

I used fuel hose without wire but the section that makes a U-bend kinked. At this point I'm not using the hydrovac so I don't need vacuum to it anyway. I'm not sure if I have all of the hoses routed correctly.

You can install a "spring" inside the hose, loose fit is fine to ease installation, or outside if your situation dictates. A screen door spring will work and can be stretched to space out the coils. Some tool gypsies sell them, made of soft wire to make stretching easier.

I am pretty sure that vacuum hose is different from fuel line, rubber wise. It seems to me that use with fuel vapor affects the rubber differently than does liquid. Anyone have the real information on that?

Fuel hose is too small for this. It comes off a tee fitting on the oil bath air cleaner and goes down the firewall and right frame rail then crosses over to the left frame rail and then to the vent on the hydrovac. OD of the fittings is 3/4. I’ve seen later trucks use a little breather in the cab corner that the same hose goes to but mine connects to the top of the oil bath.

Parker makes a variety of "suction" hoses that include an internal wrap (spring) at 3/4" ID. Most of them are nitrile inner hose, which is fine for fuel, oil, etc service. Maybe check in with your local hydraulic hose distributor for something appropriate.
