Hi
Steve Roundhill, I am English but now live in France. My 1954 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery arrives Thursday afternoon. It cleared customs in Holland and is coming home to me here in France on the back of a transporter. Beurocracy being what it is here in France it cannot be driven until I have it registered as a "Collection Car".
I am hoping I can pick people's brains and garner favours to help get on the road.
Steve

Bonjour! Bienvenue! ISTM that it's a good thing that you moved the truck from the UK to France now. If you think the bureaucracy is bad now, wait until after a hard Brexit. big_eek

Welcome to the Stovebolt madness. There is no cure! While we welcome everyone to Stovebolt.com, whether they have a truck or not, other than the engine and maybe a few trim pieces your Sedan Delivery has very little in common with Chevy/GMC Trucks. Our experts may or may not be able to help with your car based vehicle. Rest assured we will try to help where we can. shake

Merci a tout. No I bought the sedan delivery in 2016 in California. It spent nearly 2 and a half years in a garage and when I managed to get the car away from the garage I dared not send it to the UK re Brexit and getting it brought direct to France would be very difficult that's why I brought into the EU through Holland

Welcome aboard Steve.
Old chevs, cars or trucks are very similar, the expertise level here is tops. I'm sure any issue that comes your way will be cake.
Where in France are you at?
Steve

Lived in Chateauroux many years ago, born in Dreux. Your Sedan Delivery is killer, love the torque thrust D's on it and the two tone paint, interior. Extremely well done. Engine pics?

Cool ride! Can't imagine many of these running up and down the road in France.

There was one on leboncoin which is a French Craigslist I suppose but looked like it had been stood for 20years. I think it had come from an ex serviceman in Germany and the owner had given up trying to register it here in France and had just left it in the barn

Well just a quick update, the car finally arrived here in France and firs thing I found strange was the door was fastened by duck tape, small problem I thought maybe a catch had failed, then I was told the car doesn't run and we had to push the car off the transporter and finally when I had the car in my drive I found out that the garage which has had my car for over 2 1/2 years had managed to charge me for a whole list of work I had agreed to but had forgotten to do the actual work. SIK Fabrications from Los Angeles. I will not say anymore as I am starting the process of recompense and as I do not have any legal representation yet I cannot state my true feelings out loud.
Will keep you updated
