It's a stock 3 speed manual mated to the original 307. The casting numbers are a little hard to read on the LH side but appear to be like 3862845. The RH side 8825647.

How many bolts are there holding the side cover onto the case? Saginaw 3 speeds have 7 bolts, and Muncie SM 318's have 4 bolts. By 1970, I'm pretty sure all the 3 speeds were Saginaw.

'37 GMC T-18 w/ DD 4-53T, RTO-610, 6231 aux., '95 GMC running gear, full disc brakes, power steering, 22.5 wheels and tires.
'47 GMC 1 ton w/ 302, NP-540, 4wd, full width Blazer front axle.
'54 GMC 630 w/ 503 gasser, 5 speed, ex fire truck, shortened WB 4', install 8' bed.
'55 GMC 370 w/270, 420 4 speed, grain, dump bed truck from ND. Works OK.

I see Rock Auto has seal/gasket/bearing kits for it for about 90 bucks. My own stupid fault. I'm restoring the truck and had it disassembled down to nothing but the cab on the frame. The trans was working fine so I left it as is other than a new clutch, flywheel, and throw out bearing. I didn't stop to think about the fact the truck had been sitting for years. After about 50 miles of shakedown driving the old dried front seal is now leaking......now that the truck is 95% complete......argh....
