1950 suburban.....
Has anyone found a decent substitute for the impossible to find outer metal trim on the side windows? Mine is rotten and originals are ridiculous in price.....at least too much for this poor boy.

Cut into sections until they fit, then weld back together and sand smooth? Might take several, and it would be painstaking. How many do you need?

Yes it can be done. I am a welder/fabricator : I made repairs to those outer side trim pieces using 7 complete sets (L & R) of front door outer trim. The cost of all the parts and labor is just about equal to what you would probably pay if could find them on this site or elsewhere for sale. Either way you go, it's going to cost big dollars unfortunately. | | |
