Picked up a running ‘46 earlier this week, but the headlights don’t work. It seems the problem is at the voltage regulator. Do I just need to swap the red and yellow wires? Thanks in advance | | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 351 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 351 | It's hard to tell from the photos where the wires go, but it looks like the yellow wire is grounded to the V Reg case. If it is, it should go to the generator case/mounting bolt. The B (Bat) terminal on the V reg goes to the ammeter. The A (Armature) terminal on the V Reg should only go to the Armature of the generator. The F (Field) terminal should likewise only hook up to the Field coil connection on the generator. Make sure you have the two terminals on the generator properly IDed. Hope this helps.
