Followed the suggestions and used PLENTY of soap. Went in easily. Problem is there is a gap in one corner between the glass and weatherstrip. The other edge is near the edge of the weather strip. I’ve tried judging the glass but now am wondering if I installed this upside down.
Measured the glass. Same as original. Weatherstrip is Steele Rubber. Seems it is the installer!

Professional glass installers bang on the glass on an angle while pushing it with a suction cup handle in the direction of the gap. As long as it doesn't create another gap on the opposite side, you should be good.
