well that's just great.... you will take the hood off and use it, then start looking for another hood to go with your newly hoodless truck! LOL.

Not planning on parting it out any time soon. Will try to get it running, until then it will serve as pasture art / shade for my daughters ducks.

trading up, good deal! Mine never work that way, I may swap hoods, but then would look at the "parts truck" too long and start to tinker with it and well, then I'd have another project! LOL

Mission creep! Just hauling a hood home wouldn't be much fun!

Well, speaking just for myself ... I think those '60 and '61 hoods and front sheet metal are the cat's ... butt. They are cool beyond my ability to describe (and as a professional writer, I think my ability to describe things is fairly advanced
).
Good work!

I'll never forget the first time as a kid that I saw someone open the hood on one of those trucks. Your normal instinct is to reach into the grille between the headlights for the hood latch. But this is ABOVE the grille, under the hood itself. Blew me away when I first saw that!

I think those 60--61 hoods lend themselves perfectly to air intakes for a twin turbo set up .
good planning is no substitute for dumb luck
