The 235 came complete minus valve cover, timing cover, side cover and oil pan. I have purchased all new covers minus the oil pan the motor also came with a new oil pump.
O.k. my question is this: do I use my original 216 oil pan and the internal parts that came off my original oil pump from my 216 or do I need to purchase new parts and if so what? P.s. does any one know if I can purshase a manual for the 235??????

Keep your new 235 oil pump and find a used 235 Pan. Check the swap section here or inliners international for the proper pan.

I have 3 different engines I was pulling parts from, and when I was doing the final assembly I found out the hard way that some pick up tubes will not work with some oil pans. Make sense?

235s changed between 1941 and 1962 (with big changes in 1954). The answers above are for '54-'62 235s (and most likely your engine is from those years). Also, car engines had some differences from truck engines - maybe someone knows if there are pan/pump differences (over those years, between car and truck 235 engines).
Once you know the year of your engine, you could buy a Shop Manual (from any repo parts vendor or on eBay). Engine tune-up and rebuilding are covered in the Shop Manual during the years of the 235s.

Your 216 pan is set up for the dipper system and the 235 isn't.(are exceptions). All the later 235's have the bellhousing with the standard manual trans bolt pattern.

Like I said it came complete minus the oil pan and covers, it did include a new oil pump but no pump to block tube nor the oil screen, pipe and valve (the one that mantains 35 psi) as you can see my frustrations, the tranny and every thing else bolts up and this truck has the solid drive shaft. | | |
