I have a 54 chevy 3800 panel truck and would like to put newer type rims on it, it is 8 lug, will rims off a 2005 chevy 2500 8 lug fit? I heard they will hit the tie rods ? does any one know what kind of rim I can use? Can I use wheel spacers? Thanks , stuck without wheels in Ma.

I put these on my 9430 (Canadian 1 ton) and I clear my tie rod ends by about 3/8”. I run 215/85/16 tires. It dropped the tire height a little bit but that ole one ton sure rides nicely.

Excellent info.

Will the original hubcaps work with these?

I have heard that they will but with an asterisk...

You have to reuse original hub cap clips (or, yeesh, buy reproductions) and drill the rims, rivet or weld on the clips and you’re good to go.

I have original clips from my old rims but haven’t built up the courage to drill into these nice rims.
