Does the pin on the door hinge come out like a pin on a house door does? I've banged on mine till I'm afraid I'm going to damage something and it hasn't moved even a scosh (that means not even enough to see).

Welcome aboard pistachioted
The pin is removed the same as a house door hinge pin. Liberal use of penetrating oil & time or heat the hinge with a torch and immediately cool with water.

Welcome, as Rusty says, some penetrating oil and some patience. You do not want to mushroom the end of the pin...Good luck.......Dale

Took me three different tries on three days using a big hammer and a punch. I gave up the first two times and finally set my mind to it the third time. Now the bigger challenge seems to be getting the big clutch head bolts out of the hinges that are on the cab. Any tips for that or should I just leave them when I send the cab to be stripped?

Hi Tim
I removed the hinges on my 46 cab and one door in an attempt to adjust the door fitment. What worked the best for removal was heating the clutch heads to cherry red and cooling with water, then using a manual impact driver to remove. Ranks right up there with stubborn king pin removal.
I found there was no provision to adjust the cab or door hinges and removing the hinges was really fruitless. The door adjustment was better accomplished with the hinges in place.
Unless the hinges are damaged, I think you're ahead to leave them in place. And keep your original clutch head screws.

You have answered exactally what I was questioning. I was not sure if you could adjust with the hinges or not. I think I'll be leaving them alone. Thanks for the insight!
