Compared to the 3100, how do they differ as far as sheet metal? Track width wider? Same cabs? | | | | | Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Aug 2018 Posts: 28 | I've been told the cabs are the same. I have a '54 4400 and was told the fenders are a little wider on mine versus a 3100. I have never actually measured and compared so just going by what I have been told.

Short running boards are same for these trucks too Fenders, hood, grill, and related parts are same for 1.5 and 2 ton. 2 ton is a little wider front track width than the smaller trucks. I believe that 3/4 and 1 ton are same and wider than 1/2 ton by a tiny bit. Plenty of dimensions like these in the shop manuals and "restoration packs" GM once sent out for each year if you asked http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1948_51truck/51ctsm0202.htmhttp://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/index.htm | | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | If you want to drive them, look at running gear, wheel bolt pattern, braking system.
