Easy question. Having gone through my column and transmission, I dont recall a switch or circuit for backup lts. Before I broke the truck down, I had backup lts. Just dont recall where the switch contraption might reside. I have not installed the lts yet, but lost sleep last night, so it is time to ask the question.

I do not remember that setup. I have an exploding view of the column. I will look there and also in the assembly manual. Is there a handy picture? Thanks for giving me something to look for. HB

If you've got the Saginaw full-synchro 3 speed, I seem to remember some of them having a backup light switch incorporated into the side cover of the transmission. Jerry

That's a definite possibility. Try disconnecting the plug and putting a jumper wire across the wire harness connectors. The backup lights should come on if the circuit is good. With the column linkage in the reverse position there should be continuity between the connectors on the switch. Jerry
