I found a front mount yesterday off a 62 will use that as a guide for side mounts. Now i need to figure out how to mount trans. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 Riding in the Passing Lane | | Riding in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 8,597 | If you are going to an automatic you will have to remove or modify the crossmember behind the engine. Than ad a crossmember at the rear of the trans. You can buy one or fabricate one. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. It has a 3:42 rear and the rpm's would be lower. But it does move. Zeke

You'll want to make sure its going to handle the stress. Angle iron does bend.

Try a salvage yard close to you, 73+ might work too. You might have to knock out some rivets, but just use bolts to reinstall. GM was good to us these frames stayed relitivly the same for all these body styles. Even the coil sprung frames have all the same hardware holes. | | |
