Im looking to rejuvenate my suspension on my Chevy truck. Im planning on using my existing leaf springs, but would need shackle, etc. Any recommendation on what I should change or which is the best vendor for quality US parts.

In my opinion many people swap out their leaf springs in their 1/2 tons for no reason, They may see it sagging one side or another usually caused from worn shackles and hardware. I just recently went through my entire truck's suspension and disassembled the springs to clean and paint them, they are just fine. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 326 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2017 Posts: 326 | When I got my truck, an inspection showed that one of the front shackles was broken and not holding the spring straight. So I replaced all the shackles and pivot points on both ends of the springs. Some of the ones that looked good were pretty worn once I got them apart. I left the springs alone, they seem okay, I know some people put a sheet product (cannot remember the name off hand) between the leafs when they go back together to help them slide across each other. Maybe something to look into.

Use 58-59 shackle kits. They have nuts on the end of the pins. Much better then the earlier ones. Unless you want complete originality.
