For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 53 Rusty Nuts | | Rusty Nuts Joined: Jan 2019 Posts: 53 | I'm planning on installing a 305 SBC with a 700 R4 in my 1955-2 Chevy 3600 truck. This is a second series truck.
I'm seeing basically two types available:
a. an adjustable tubular mount which spans between the frame rails with supports reaching upwards towards the engine side mounts
b. two separate bracket mounts, each which independently hangs from the left or right frame rails reaching up towards the engine side mounts.
Which type is best? | | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 Bolter | | Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 7,441 | I found the one piece tubulars would not work on my ‘62 so I went with the singles. Fit ok with a little grinding for a closer fit.
