I have a 1955 1st Series and I am looking for a solution for my dash specifically the speaker grill. When i purchased the truck the previous owner had cut the ribs above the radio for some reason. So, I have a hole. I am looking for solutions to repair or fill in the space. Help
I have not been able to find a replacement dash, and since its spot welded in place I know will be difficult to go down that road. I was thinking about a large radio / touchscreen to fill the space but difficult to finding a solution.
Long shot , get in touch with RPM Classic parts ( 507-377-1138) or Mongo's Garage (816-265-1462) and ask them if they can "cut out" the section of speaker grill you need from a donor truck and sell it to you. You could then "repair" your grill by replacing the missing section. If you've got skill with metal working or have someone who is, you should be able to restore it.

A parts truck is about your only hope being the 54/55 1st are unique. If you're not totally married to the 54/55 dash, you could always morph a 47-53 replacement dash into the truck. There'll be some cutting welding and cursing, but I'm sure it can be done.
