We’re going to convert our ‘53 from 3 on the tree to a 4 or 5 speed. With either trans we’ll try to use the stock boot setup to look like a factory 4 speed. LMC has the boot and a floor seal. I’m assuming there’s a floor panel/ring setup? Can someone post pics of what the floor panels look like that has 4 on the floor?

The originally available SM420 4-speed transmission would have a floor cover that looked something like this.

That one will work for the sm420 trans but the shifter opening will probably be different on other transmissions

Does the shifter boot for the SM420 just sit on top of the hump in the panel?

Yes, that is what I linked-to.

However, yours is a "mobile" link (whatever that means).

Thanks so the seal should be the same for both column and floor shift then.

The floor cover is different for the column 3-speed and the floor 4-speed.

Different covers, but same outline, which is what the seal is for I’m assuming.

Yes, this seal works for both manual transmission covers.
It is not big enough for the 1954/55st Hydra-Matic transmission floor cover.

That is the same seal that I referred-to above as: 4-speed seal (where the "tower" comes up through the cover)

The link you posted is a paper gasket for the cover to the cab floor. Looks like this one goes in the hole for the floor shift panel to seal the shifter handle. I got it sorted now. Thanks for the help.
