I saw an ad for a 235 engine with a 6 digit number on the block. I can't find this number any where on the casting number lists on any of the sites. I've attached a photo.

thanks,
Joe

What is the Engine Serial Number, and the block date casting code?

Look to be a newer (194 /230 /250 292) engine from the bit in the photo.

Side motor mounts however my ‘62 235 had the drilled/tapped holes for the side mounts even though it had the front mount.

Looks like the bottom of a coil for an HEI that doesn't have the coil in the cap. Could it be a 230/250?

Here's the engine. I'm thinking a 250 from the valve cover with the 6 mounting bolts?

1974 didn't have HEI. 1978 has HEI coil in cap. So should be 1975 - 1977 assuming distributor is original to engine.
