Ok folks, here we go (easier than a PM to everybody).

Truck I bought 3 years ago had a beat up old Fulton 800 on it, which I did not want cause it wasn't restorable.

Found an original one last year, came off a 1953 3100, and it was in extremely good shape. Has the two tab dog-bone brackets. Each tab has two screw holes in it.

With the door open, from the bottom of the rain gutter, measure up 11-1/16", which will be the first hole on the bottom tab. Now, holding the dog-bone bracket up against the door jamb, all the other holes can be marked.
I'm using #8 x3/4" stainless pan-head sheet metal screws, so the holes you need to drill into the jamb don't have to be very big at all. Once you close the door, all of this covers up.

And for sure, use the two center supports that clamp to the windshield center piece (Classic Parts #36-020), or it will want to bow in the center.

Real good idea to fit the visor and brackets on the truck before any painting is done, cause you may need to do some adjusting on the visor to get the width correct. It's a two person job to hold it up and fit and adjust it.

There's three sections to the visor....left side, right side, and the center section.....all of it will come apart. The two round v-shaped bar stock pieces are colored, (seems like mine were painted red and yellow), and underneath the center section, those color names are stamped into the metal, (so it kinda tells you which one goes in the front and back). It can go together a couple of different ways, but only ONE way correct. Each side of the visor will slide on this round bar for adjustment.

Just like everything else on these old trucks, very basic design, but very good structurally.

I've searched for printed instructions also, kind of hard to come by, but somebody has a set somewhere. And it's kind of hard to describe what you have and how it all goes together on one of these, unless it's all laid out in front of you. There's not a lot to one though, as long as it's all complete.

Fulton made numerous different styles of visors & the installation instructions were different for all of them.{ 700 series, 800 series & 1000 series }

Fulton produced different mounting brackets for specific applications such as hardtop cars, convertible cars & roof mounted visors for 1 piece windshield vehicles.... etc

Without knowing the model # of the visor in question, it will be tough to post the specific installation instructions for it here.

There is not enough room here to post all of the variations of Fulton visors & specific modular parts for them.

I would be happy to collaborate with Tim & open up my 40 year collection of original Fulton visor literature but.... it would probably end up being a detailed tech tip article rather than a nondescript post in the forums.

Mother Trucker, since you’re in the Fulton visor business all these many years your literature collection must be vast. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’d guess the two most popular and commonly installed visors are the models 700 & 800. If you would be kind enough to share the original installation instructions for just those two models with Tim (tclederman) you’d cover the majority of requests for installation advice on Stovebolt.com. I’m sure he would add them to the Tech Tips section where they would be a welcomed addition! Other Fulton literature of interest could be added at later dates as you had time to share it. Thank you for offering to collaborate with us to get this done. It’s been a long time coming!!

Thanks to all of you in advance for this information. I’ve got a Fulton visor but have been hesitant to start the installation due to a lack of instructions. Hopefully this tech tip will enable me to get started. And thanks to everyone for all the help over the past five years. The truck is finally drivable and the feeling is indescribable!!
